The Syracuse 7v7 tournament started with round robin competition. Brooklyn Tech was place in Division D with Midwood, Campus Magnet and Tilden. Wins vs Midwood and Tilden, with a loss to Magnet, gave Tech the second draw from the division and set up a playoff matchup with Uniondale from Long Island. Uniondale had drawn the top seed after winning the division that included Tottenville, Stuyvesant, and George Washington.

Both Uniondale and Tech started strong, but this game was a defensive struggle. At the end of regulation, the score was tied 7-7. It took three overtime periods, while the rest of the players that had finished their games looked on, but Tech prevailed after answering a uniondale score and adding the conversion.

Entering the semi-final matchup with Curtis High School, the rain intensified and Tech continued to stay hot on offense and defense. However, the offense failed to convert two early goaline situations. Curtis took a 21-14 lead with less than a minute to go on a running clock. Tech got the ball back and threw a long incompletion. Shyti was able to get them lined up for one last play, a long ball to Tyler Dougherty that was caught. However, the catch was short of the goaline.

Tech did a great job in the inaugural 7v7 tournament.
